Learning SGRSR with the Spirit Release Academy
I co-founded the Spirit Release Academy (SRA) with Jonno Webster in November 2022, so that the protocol Dr Terence Palmer and I spent ten years developing would be taught safely and ethically to the next generation of practitioners.
Spirit Guided Remote Spirit Release (SGRSR) is a structured, trademarked, spirit guided approach developed exclusively and taught by the Spirit Release Academy (SRA).
It is designed to identify and clear disruptive or intrusive influences within a person’s energetic and etheric field, supporting the restoration of spiritual sovereignty, balance and clarity.
SGRSR is carried out remotely and works beyond time and distance. The focus is not on belief, but on outcome based clearing, energetic integrity and ethical spiritual practice.
At the heart of this work is the principle of sovereignty: the understanding that every individual has the right to occupy their own energetic space, free from interference, distortion or external influence.
The method
What is SGRSR?
Spirit Guided Remote Spirit Release is a guided clearing process carried out by trained practitioners working alongside a highly evolved spirit guide. The guide scans the person’s field, identifies disturbances or attachments, removes what does not belong and restores energetic coherence.
This may include the clearing of:
- Spirit attachments and intrusive influences
- Energetic imprints from trauma or emotional shock
- Thought forms and self created energetic constructs
- Ancestral or karmic entanglements
- Fragmentation within the energetic field
The work is delivered through a defined framework of roles to ensure safety, accuracy and ethical integrity. Unlike intuitive or ad hoc approaches, SGRSR follows a clear protocol that puts protection, consent and professional standards first.
Where it came from
The history and evolution of the work
The foundations of SGRSR are rooted in the wider field of Spirit Release Therapy (SRT) and Remote Spirit Release (RSR), which grew out of early psychical research into consciousness, possession states and non physical influences on the human psyche.
Key historical contributors to this field include Frederic W. H. Myers and later William Baldwin, whose work helped shape the early understanding of spirit releasement and its psychological and spiritual implications.
Between 2011 and 2021, Dr Terence Palmer PhD and I worked closely with my spirit guide Chen to develop and refine the Remote Spirit Release (RSR) protocol. This decade of work involved extensive case work, documentation and the exploration of how spiritual disturbance can affect mental, emotional and energetic wellbeing.
As the work expanded, Jonno Webster and his spirit guide White Hawk became part of the evolving framework, contributing refinements that brought in deeper layers of spiritual protection.
This collective evolution led to the formation of the Spirit Release Academy (SRA) in November 2022 and the development of the modern SGRSR training pathway.
The connection to Dr Terence Palmer PhD
Dr Terence Palmer PhD was a pivotal figure in the development of Remote Spirit Release. His academic background and dedication to research helped bridge the gap between spiritual practice and investigative inquiry.
Dr Palmer presented his findings to respected institutions including:
- The Society for Psychical Research
- The Scientific and Medical Network
- The Royal Society of Medicine
He was the author of The Science of Spirit Possession, documenting over a thousand cases and exploring where psychology, consciousness and spiritual interference meet.
Dr Palmer passed away in December 2021, leaving a legacy of integrity, curiosity and rigorous exploration that continues to shape the ethos and standards of SRA training today, carried forward by Jonno and me.

Jonno is also a psychic surgeon and works closely with his spirit guide White Hawk. He has played a leading role in expanding the academy’s multi layered approach to healing, sovereignty and practitioner development, and also teaches courses in trance and psychic surgery.

The training
Training offered by the Spirit Release Academy
The Academy provides structured, professional training for people called to work in spirit guided clearing and sovereignty based healing, teaching its own SGRSR protocol.
Training is designed to ensure:
- Ethical practice and informed consent
- Strong energetic and psychic protection
- Clear practitioner roles and responsibilities
- Professional boundaries and spiritual hygiene
- Confidence, consistency and safety in delivery
Students are supported through comprehensive manuals, live training, supervised practice and ongoing community mentorship.
Types of practitioners trained
SGRSR sessions are carried out through clearly defined roles. This structure is a core part of what makes the work safe, repeatable and effective.
SRA Facilitator (SRA-F)
The Facilitator anchors and leads the session. Their role is to:
- Hold the structure of the clearing
- Ensure safety, consent and protocol adherence
- Support the recipient before and after the session
- Maintain clarity, grounding and professional boundaries
Facilitators do not need to be psychic or mediumistic, but must be well trained in energetic awareness, discernment and ethical delivery.
SRA Medium (SRA-M)
The Medium is the communication bridge between the spirit guide and the facilitator. Their role includes:
- Relaying clear, accurate information from the guide
- Maintaining neutrality and protection
- Working in line with strict spiritual hygiene protocols
Mediums must have a stable, trusted connection with their guide and the ability to stay clear and unbiased during sessions.
Spirit guide led clearing
Within the SGRSR framework, the spirit guide performs the clearing. The guide scans the energetic field, identifies disturbances, removes what does not belong, restores flow and confirms completion.
The practitioners facilitate and relay the work. They do not impose their own will or energy.
