Meet Kim Rogers, The Worm Queen: Parasites, Plant Medicine and Taking Back Your Health

I’ve been looking forward to this conversation for a long time. My kids have called me “the wormy” for years because I’m always talking about parasites, cleanses and cloves, so when I read Kim Rogers’ bio I knew straight away we had to get her on the podcast!

Kim is known as The Worm Queen, and honestly, you can’t beat a title like that. She hosts her own podcast, What’s Eating You, has been a guest on around 400 others, and has spoken about parasites every single day since July 2021.

From Western medicine to the rainforest

Kim spent nearly 20 years working in Western medicine. She holds two healthcare degrees, ran 25 healthcare colleges, wrote medical books and curriculum, and specialised in neurology and endocrinology. She helped train many of the people she worked alongside.

Yet in her own life, after 13 surgeries and years of chronic illness, she found herself out of answers. In 2019 Kim and her husband Jeremy made a huge decision. They sold everything, left their careers and moved to the edge of the Hoh Rainforest in Washington State, where they began building a log home with their own hands.

It was there, surrounded by nature, growing her own mushrooms and listening to her spirit guides, that Kim’s journey really began. She shares a beautiful moment in the episode where she asked the universe for a sign that she was being supported, and the birds answered. I won’t spoil it, you’ll have to listen!

The moment everything changed

In 2021 Kim came across a video about parasite cleansing and decided to try a simple herbal cleanse. What she saw in the days that followed set her on a completely new path. She describes it as the moment her soul reconnected with her body.

Over the following months she filmed her whole experience, learned from her community and discovered that a good cleanse isn’t just about the herbs that clear things out. It also needs to support the body, bind and gently break down biofilm. That learning became Parify, a 30 day herbal cleanse kit that Kim now makes in her own purpose built facility with a team of 45 people.

What we chat about

  • Kim’s incredible personal story and why she became her own health advocate
  • Why she believes parasites are so often overlooked
  • The everyday signs she says to look out for, like teeth grinding, bloating after meals and poor sleep
  • Her thoughts on the full moon and why so many people notice changes around it
  • Why I think cleansing should feel as normal for us as worming our pets
  • My chickens story (a lesson I learned the hard way!)
  • What’s inside a Parify kit and how simple it is to use
  • Flushers, lookers and diggers, and why I’ve signed up to be a digger

Taking back responsibility for our health

One of the things I loved most about this conversation is how much Kim and I agree on one big idea. So many of us have handed our health over to someone else, and it’s time to take some of that responsibility back. As Kim puts it, this is your temple, and at the end of each day you want to feel you’ve done what you can to look after it.

My spirit guide Chen has talked about this for a long time too. Our ancestors cooked over wood fires, foraged local herbs and ate what grew around them. Most of us have lost that connection with the land, and Kim’s story is a great reminder of how much nature still has to offer us.

I’m doing the cleanse!

I’m officially starting the Parify 30 day cleanse myself, so I can share how I got on. Watch this space!

If you’d like to try Parify too, you can use my link rogershood.com and enter the code ANDYPORTER10 at checkout to get 10% off your order. Kim also has around 10 free ebooks on her website, including a parasite identification guide, which are well worth a look.

You can watch the full episode on YouTube here. I really hope you enjoy this one. We had a good laugh, but it’s a serious conversation, and it might just get you thinking about your own health in a new way.
